Attorney within the Art Law and Intellectual Property Law section. Auke has been involved in several high-profile art cases. He advises and litigates on issues including the restitution of looted art, the protection of cultural heritage, intellectual property, authenticity and contractual disputes. In addition he is a board member of the Museum Van loon 100 Committee, which organises events around the museum’s collection.
Auke graduated in civil law from Leiden University in 2017. Specialised in the field of intellectual property law, including with a thesis on ‘The personality right of the architect’, for which he received an honourable mention at the symposium of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property in the Netherlands (2018). Studied a semester at Queen Mary University London in 2016 (intellectual property law and art history) and completed internships in the field of intellectual property law at several firms during his studies.

Auke has registered the legal area Intellectual property law/civil law in the Register of Legal Areas of the Dutch Bar Association. This registration obliges him to obtain ten training points per calendar year in this registered area of law, according to the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
